"Chronicles of Jacob the Wanderer" is a collection of stories centered around the character Jakub Wendrowicz. The genre is humorous (social) fantasy. Selected tales have been previously featured in Russian anthologies, while in Poland, the first volume has seen five editions totaling around 80,000 copies. A comic based on the stories is in development. The protagonist is an old, perpetually drunk, aggressive toward strangers, reeking of alcohol and unwashed socks rural Exorcist (devil expeller) - the aficionado Jakub Wendrowicz. He is also involved in moonshining and poaching. His eternal enemies include vampires, demons, all kinds of evil, along with the police and envious neighbors. Jakub leads an extremely antisocial lifestyle: he doesn't work anywhere, spending most of his time in a pub or carrying out who-knows-what mission to save the world. Homeless dogs and cats often fall victim to him, which he catches to turn into pâté, a snack for his nuclear moonshine. Due to his constant illegal actions, Jakub is perpetually at odds with the law. Wendrowicz's adventures serve as a platform for sharp satire on socialist and modern Poland. Throughout the text, one can repeatedly observe harsh parodies of various pop culture phenomena. Thanks to its dark humor, this series enjoys immense popularity in Poland.
